Ingredients

  • 1 Egg
  • 60g Sugar
  • 2g Salt
  • 40g Milk
  • 40g Melted unsalted butter
  • 3g Vanilla extract
  • 3g Baking soda
  • 250g All-purpose flour

  • 100g Sugar
  • 100g Water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and salt.
  2. Whisk in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
    (You can also add all the ingredients from 1. and 2. at once and mix)
  3. Add the baking soda and flour and mix with a spatula, then use your hands to form a ball.
  4. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin and cut diagonally into long strips (you can shape them however you like).
  5. Gather the remaining dough, roll it out again, and cut it into strips.
  6. When the oil is about 160 degrees, deep fry until browned.
  7. Add 1 part sugar and 1 part water to a saucepan and bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat for about 2 minutes and remove from heat.
  8. Dip the fried doughnuts into the sugar syrup, toss, and serve.
